My primary role in HLS’ translation team is to ensure that all of the technical terms are being done justice in the final translation. A lack of expertise in the source and target area of translation can be disastrous. Due to my experience in consulting and banking, I’m also very accustomed to researching the technical terms of industries out of my expertise. チーム内での主な業務は、元の文書の意図やフィーリングを確保しながらの英文校正とローカライゼーションです。 “Lost in translation”という英語の言い回しがありますが、これは一語ずつ見ると正しく翻訳されているのに意味合いやニュアンスが時に元の文章とは異なる結果になることを表しています。翻訳元の文章を正しく、かつフィーリングまで伴った訳に仕上げるのが私の責任です。

My primary responsibility in this team is to make sure that the your document isn’t just translated word for word, but that the intended meaning and feelings are conveyed to a tee. Have you ever heard the English idiom "lost in translation”. This refers to the problem of a translation being accurate, but not conveying the feeling and nuance of the source material properly. My job is to ensure that translations are both accurate and successfully deliver the intended feelings of the source.
